This morning I was told that I am the WORST mother ever and I’m bad and mean because . . . I wouldn’t iron a skirt for Alexis, nor did she want to wear the dress I ironed for her last night.

Oh em gee.

I not only love the post because of it’s honesty–but because someone else’s child touches their belly and does so because it’s soft and does it in public! I thought my kid was the only one! (He doesn’t like Dad’s belly because it’s hairy and rough.)

Does/did she ever “open” your belly? That’s when he lifts my shirt, lifts his shirt, and lays across my belly with his belly.

Gah. I never thought I’d type THOSE words on the internets…

They truly are awesome, aren’t they? I often think of that saying, “To the world, you may be one person, but to one person, you are the world.” Even if we ruin their lives multiple times a day, the hugs make it all worth it.

I could not help but crack up laughing at that last line. Oh my kids laugh when I threaten things like that. Gotta love em. Course I also remember age 5 and have a very picky eater, boy are there stories there. I think one day, when your daughter reads this she’ll know you love her no matter what. Take care, it only gets better.

BTW- good luck on the dog. That can become a tough situation.

Our kids have a similar way of showing affection. On the one hand, ALWAYS WITH THE TOUCHING MY WORD YOU MUST STOP.
On the other, I’m glad you like me. Don’t stop. Except maybe stop a little. But I’m glad you like me.
