I watched as my sister in law married her fiance’ and on top of that gave an AWESOME speech (yeah, I’m calling it awesome, because it was, even had my father in law crying…my goal? to make folks cry, is that weird?). I developed an even closer relationship with God. And, I finally called & made an appointment with my doctor because there is something not right with me (depression? anxiety? no clue, but something).

Happy Birthday! One of the best things that happened in the last month is that my Dad finally came out of his post pancreatic cancer surgery fog and was told he has no cancer left in his body. That’s definitely something to celebrate :)

What a glorious birthday!

This month rocked because I successfully met/exceeded many goals. We paid down huge amounts of debt. I ran 3/4 a mile without stopping. I FINALLY 1.5 years later made two loaves of gluten free bread! Gluten free pantry sandwich bread is pretty fabulous if I say so myself. I also made gluten free granola bars all by myself! So April was great.

This month has actually been pretty good. I got a paper accepted at a conference in Dublin, which means I’m going to Ireland in June. Had our second baby, a girl!

My cousin who has had fertility issues for years is pregnant with twins.

Our best friends who lost their brother (he was a senior in college) 4 years ago had their second child but first boy, and named him after his deceased uncle. It was special and meaningful. And we were chosen as his Godparents.

It has been a good year. :) Here’s to hoping your birthday is special and wonderful, and that the year ahead holds many blessings for you!

Happy Birthday, you sassy ball of awesome!

As for me, I’m happy for my health and my family. I’m especally happy that my mom, a breast cancer survivor with several other health issues (including Type II Diabetes) has embarked on a weight loss and workout plan that her doctor has assured her will get her healthier and allow her to eliminate some of her medications. She’s feeling great about herself and has lost 60lbs in the last year. That makes me very happy!

Happy Birthday!

In the last month, my dad has finally consented to take the medicine the doctor prescribed for his memory loss and although he complains about it to my mom; taking it is a huge step to keeping him healthy.

I finished up the training for a large program I’m in charge of launching at the office and surprisingly most supervisors have had a very positive reaction to the implementation – one today thanked me for my drive and passion.

My boyfriend and I have been dating 6 months and I noticed this month we’re planning stuff months in advance and he’s referring to home improvement and gardening projects as our projects. (when we pick tomatoes this summer) It’s given me some much needed security to relax and enjoy being loved.
My weight has gone up over the winter, but I realized that I’m the strongest I’ve ever been and even carrying around these hips and butt I can work out circles around a lot of girls at the gym.

Happy Birthday! I had to have my first gluten-free b-day cake this year too!! I made the GF betty crocker cake mix and covered it in tasty frosting. It wasn’t the best cake I’ve ever had but it certainly wasnt’ the worst either.

I realized that I would be celebrating my 11th wedding anniversary next month. I am so happy with my marriage. We have had some pretty tough things to deal with but we have gotten closer with each experience. So, the best thing in my life is my hubby. …And my tomato plants in the back yard.

The best ever? My eldest turned 16 this month and I am getting glimpses of the person she will be. And full of awesome? She auditioned and was chosen as Drum Major for the local high school marching band. She is officially the Head of the Band Geeks. This month has been lovely. Spring came. I found my courage again. I lost five pounds. I had a doctor actually listen to me and help. My daughters grew and changed and grew some more. Life relaxed. We took a mini vacation to Great Wolf. Flowers bloomed and trees exploded with green.

There is so much that has been good and beautiful and wonderful. How lucky we are that we get to see it all.

Happy Birthday Cassie!
In your honour — I will by my student a Wonderbar tomorrow and we will split it!
April is always a wonderful month (My B-day is March 31st) and so many wonderful things have happened this month. My Spring flowers are coming up, the cayenne pepper seems to be keeping the bunnies away, my perennials are coming up, and the lilies have mega-plied. My nephew (4)has shown me the wonders of my garden, overlooking the weeds, etc and pointing out the ladybugs, flowers and other finds. I have received spontaneous gifts from friends and I have read many many wonderful books this month (including the Secret Daughter, the Forbidden Garden and the Red Scarf).
I hope you had a fabulous birthday and may this year be as wonderful!

Good things…

My sister and I suddenly have the relationship I always wanted. I went from very nearly severing all ties with her to being incredibly close. It’s amazing.

I got to hang out with the California part of the internet last weekend, it was fantastic.

And you know, your birthday. :)

April has brought me a (mostly) morning sickness free month! Was diagnosed with mild hyperemesis gravidarum last month.

I’ve started gaining weight and this baby hasn’t stopped kicking and flipping for the last two weeks.

I’m feeling great and getting rounder by the day :)

I’m a day late, but hopefully you’ll still take me! :-)

April, let’s see…
- I got a promotion at my job.
- My husband and I were discussing some land where we may hopefully have a house one day, and I love that he told me if we found the right place, we’d build the house green and that I could have the horses I’ve always wanted. I love that he remembers those desires of mine from a long time ago.
- Glee, NCIS, and One Tree Hill (yes, I’m a sucker) all started back up. :-D
- I finally got to go to my first photography conference and have already seen so much improvement in myself.
- I got to hang out with all four of my grandparents, who I am still very blessed to have in my life, at a birthday dinner for my dad and brother. So nice.

So Happy, Happy (Day-late) Birthday to you Casey!! Thank you for your blog! :-)

Happy Birthday! I wish you a wonderful year. It will be a good year. they do get better.
It is my birthday month also, I was 38 on the 23rd.

Spring is slowly sprunging!
In the last month(plus a few days) three of my four children have had birthdays to celebrate, including the baby turning one. I have baked cakes to construct special requests, arranged parties to enjoy time with friends.
We have attended birthdays parties of other friends, eaten more cake and enjoyed time with them.
I wrapped up the kids birthdays with a celebration of my own. A great day where I enjoyed my children, was showered with treats and thoughtfulness from my husband, time for myself and then dinner out with girlfriends!
We have been looking for a bigger house and we may have found one that feels like home.
There have been stressful time this month too but at this stage in life they seem to lead to insights and make me/us stronger.

I lost my job, and then, friends came out of the woodwork to keep me on my feet, to hold my hand, and wouldn’t stop offering me new work. I got six weeks off to spend with my babies, and it’s been wonderful.

Did I wish you a happy birthday in your comment cake on your golden birthday? I totally can’t remember and we all know that I am incredibly lazy and can not look through all of the comments to see if I did. So Happy Belated Golden Birthday to my girl Casey. i hope you had a spectacular golden birthday. i LOVE that picture of you with the balloons. fantabulously joyful.

hmm…best things to happen to me in the last month. glee returned. we planted our garden for this year. we booked our family vacation for this summer. i think my kids managed to make me smile more than they made me scream this month.

Happy Birthday honey. I always remember your birthday because it is my daughter’s birthday as well. She turned 21 the day you turned 28. The next day, she moved to southern California! (I miss her but I’m SO excited for her.)

i know this is a late comment…but it still is heartfelt just the same.

my story…depression…yeah it hits me too…and last week was bad….but….

today is a good day, and you had a birthday and THAT is awesome.

what is making me smile today? the wet kiss i just got from my 8 year old, metal dust in my nose, flip flops, and warm slides that beckon me to lie on them and look up at the sun!
