My love of Indy is influnced partly by growing up in Dallas. I love summers/fall here. I love when it gets hot, just wait a day or two and we’ll have a cool front come down and cool off. I love that we get snow–but not the ENTIRE winter. I don’t like how long spring takes to come. I did live in the country (hour north of Indy) for about 10 years, and didn’t move to Indianapolis until 2 years ago. I LOVE June in the country…the things I love about it don’t really happen as much in the city.

As for the city, not just the state, I like how Indy is a “small” city, not as much traffic, clean, with lots of things to do downtown. I like how friendly people are. There are an interesting mix of people here. Not everyone is backwards. Really. If that’s all your meeting, you really need to get to other parts of town! :-)

Yes, I’m one of those Utah transplants but I really do love Indianapolis. I like that there are a lot of family oriented places to visit and activities to do. I like that there is one giant belt route around the city. I like that it’s not too big and it’s not too small. The place is crazy about “fests” which is a huge plus. Perhaps it is because I’ve lived in a crappy Eurpoean city that smelled of coal and armpit that I see Indianapolis through rose-colored glasses but I love it.

Do I LURVE Indy? Hmmm…I don’t hate it. But, um, don’t ask me when I’m digging my car out of the snow.

Native Hoosier here! I’m not a super-duper Indy fan, but I’m not ashamed of it either. I’ve only lived in one other place (Ft. Bragg, NC) and I’d pick Indy over it any day.
I am beyond surprised that there are so many other bloggers in Indy. We definitely need to have a get-together sometime! Thanks for pulling out all the Hoosier-Lurkers. :)

Ahh, thanks for a whole post devoted to ME! And I must say, that many of these silly lurkers didn’t bother to come and give me a good ol’ Indiana welcome. Shunned already and I haven’t even moved yet.
